See-Through is a transparency spray that officials can use to inspect the contents of closed envelopes or paper wrapped packages without opening or damaging them, and without leaving any marks.
It is ideal for inspecting suspect envelopes and packages for potential security risks (specifically substances suspected of being drugs, bio-agents and/or explosives). Foreign matter, such as a powder, will be seen as a darkened area in the envelope.
See-Through is a clear, non-conductive liquid that when sprayed on a suspect envelope or document will allow the user to clearly see the contents.
After the document or envelope is dry (it dries in minutes), See-Through will not leave any traces or watermarks. Nor does it cause inks to run.
See-Through is available in 300ml, 200ml and 100ml sizes.
Hence, See Through is an excellent tool for a security officer in the mail checking procedure. Inspection is performed in the following manner:
Place the envelope in a well ventilated place and away from heat source, sparks or open flame.
Spray heavily on both sides of the suspected envelope from a distance of 10cm (4") until transparent. Hold against illuminated surface.
Most inks will not run. If necessary, check stability of ink by spraying briefly and carefully on the edge of writing.
Inspect the content of envelope.
Wait for the complete evaporation of spray, the paper will turn back opaque without leaving any marks.
